Sometimes, I buy skincare products on a whim and the Plum Grape Seed & Sea Buckthorn Light Stay Day Cream was such an impulsive buy. Even though this day cream is best suited for dry skin, I bought it regardless of the fact that my skin is oily to combination, thinking that it will be a nice treat for the winter days ahead. Luckily, this cream suited my skin like a dream, so much so that I immediately placed an order for the Nurturance Night Cream from the same range as well. Usually, I’m not too matchy-matchy about my day and night skincare routine but using these two products in conjunction has worked quite well for my skin and here is how.
The day cream has a thick consistency, as opposed to the lotions from Plum, and is also pretty creamy. It spreads fairly easily on the skin though and you only need a few dots of the product to cover the entire face. It has a slight oiliness to it, but not in a bad way – more like the lightweight oiliness of serums. Also, this does not create a thick film on the face and gets absorbed fairly quickly, leaving the skin hydrated and glowing but not greasy. I love the fact that this cream has SPF 30, which I need at the moment because I am starting to incorporate Vitamin C in my skincare regimen. Overall, this cream is the perfect product for the cold season ahead when you need to give a little extra nourishment to your parched skin. It seems like the product replenishes the natural oils of the face without causing excessive oiliness and the cream should suit all skin types except extremely oily skin.
The night cream from the range is also extremely nourishing without being heavy on the skin and sinks into the face beautifully. Along with many natural oils, the product also contains sea buckthorn extracts which are supposed to be an excellent source of Omega 7 fatty acids which repair the skin, while the grape seed oil acts as a powerful anti-oxidant. The only thing I don’t like about this night cream is the bulky glass jar which is not travel-friendly at all. I wish that this product had a more compact packaging like the convenient tube of the day cream. The day cream and the night cream can be purchased as a combo pack for INR 1000 (current discounted price is INR 815), which seems pretty affordable to me for the quality of the products.
All the Plum products are paraben-free, phthalate-free and SLS-free and are also extremely gentle on the skin. I love these mild yet effective skincare products that have a faint fragrance that uplifts my mood in the morning and at night. So if you are someone who is planning to pamper your skin a little bit extra during the winter months then do give this range a shot.
The night cream looks like it would blend into the skin without any effort! Great review 🙂
