Mitti Se is an Indian brand that has recently received a lot of love from beauty bloggers, particularly on Instagram. The brand creates all natural products from ingredients that have been used in traditional Indian skincare for centuries. Somehow, I never got around to trying out the brand because I had way too much skincare to test out already but when I saw a sample size of the Mitti Se Wild Essence Face Wash on Smytten, I grabbed it. Ever since I started using this product, I have literally been kicking myself for not trying it out earlier because it is so good! So let us look at what this product claims to do in greater detail.
This product is an all-natural powder based facewash which you need to mix with water to apply to the face and it can be used as a face pack as well. What got me really excited about this face wash is the fact that it contains orange peel, lemon peel, and the essential oil of orange. I have recently been hearing such great things about the anti-pigmentation and anti-oxidizing benefits of Vitamin C that I have been trying to gradually incorporate it into my regimen and this product seemed like a great way to do the same. It also contains almond powder which acts as a mild scrub and a source of Vitamin E. Other ingredients included black and red gram flour and fuller’s earth (Multani mitti), which form an essential part of any homemade Indian facemask and have anti-tanning properties. This is combined with extracts of rose, neem, and turmeric that prevent acne and have anti-bacterial properties. Due to its mild exfoliating properties and the presence of anti-bacterial ingredients, this product does live up to its claims of being an anti-acne and anti-suntan face wash.
I personally prefer using this product as a face mask because then it gives even better results. I am usually not a fan of “high-maintenance” products that need to be made into a paste, as opposed to those that can be used directly out of the jar, but in fact, I quite enjoyed making this paste because the powder dissolves really well in the water and forms a smooth paste quite easily. Since I had purchased only a sample pack, I made the paste in bulk and stored it in the fridge. Less than 10gms of the product gave me more than 5 uses which is very impressive. I massage this paste onto my skin to gently exfoliate my face and then let it dry for a good 10 minutes before washing it off. This mask sucks out all the oil from my face and brings a natural glow to my skin. What I love a lot about the product is the zesty scent of oranges that truly wakes me up in the mornings and makes me feel like I am using something pure on my face.
If you are someone with oily and acne prone skin then you must use this product as a face pack and if you have normal to dry skin then sticking to it as a face wash would be better. With regular use, it does eliminate dead cells to get rid of a tan and also dries up any pimples to reveal clearer skin. Overall, I do not see any cons to the product and the price of INR 220 for 40gms is pretty reasonable considering the quality and the small quantity of product required per use. You can buy this product on Amazon and can also order a sample from Smytten if you are a member. If you are looking for some last minute skin detox before Diwali for that festive glow then this product will definitely be your knight in shining armour!
