Red lips may sound extremely glamorous but what adds a flush of color to most girls’ lips on a daily basis is a pink lipstick. And because a pink lipstick is a part of the daily makeup routine and is one of the few lip products that we actually end up finishing, it seems like a good idea to find a trustworthy but affordable option. The Maybelline Color Show Lipsticks have been around for a long time due to their excellent formula, and the shade 103 – Crushed Candy is the perfect pink for daily wear.
Just like the other lipsticks from the Color Show range, the formula of the shade Crushed Candy is creamy and moisturizing. I love the name of the shade and the fragrance of the lipstick is that of candies and lollipops too! The pigmentation is decent and you should be able to achieve an opaque finish in approximately 2 swipes. However, since it is a light shade, if you have highly pigmented lips then the color will not be able to conceal the patches completely. Also, I would recommend scrubbing your lips before using this lipstick because although the product doesn’t settle in the creases, it may exaggerate some bumps on the lips.
The shade looks darker in the bullet than it does on the lips. It is a darker and deeper version of a cotton candy pink, which makes it more suitable for Indian skin tones. I personally do not like super light pinks as they do not go well with my complexion but this one is the perfect “My Lips But Pinker” shade for me. As for the longevity, since the formula is a creamy one, it requires reapplication every 3 hours or so. Also, because it is slightly slippery on the lips, it would be better to use a lipliner under the lipstick if you are going to be eating. However, if you are just going out for a couple of hours or do not mind touching up once or twice throughout the day, this lipstick will work really well for a more natural makeup look.
Priced at INR 299 only, the Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in the shade Crushed Candy is ideal for when you need a break from the super matte liquid lipsticks and want something that can be applied in a jiffy. What is more, the formula is so nourishing that this lipstick can also double up as a lip balm. To top it all of, this formula is available in a wide variety of colors ranging from baby pinks to vampy reds. What more can you ask for from such an affordable product? If you like experimenting with lip colors but do not want to burn a hole in your pocket then the Maybelline Color Show Lipsticks are here to be your savior!

299 is quite pocket friendly, loved the shade also
Shade is really pretty but I really don’t like the finish 😕😕 Maybe m too much into matte these days
Haha, this is definitely not for those who love a matte finish, it is the old school glossy and creamy finish 🙂
that’s such a nice shade for the summer!
I agree 🙂
I like your reviews a lot because you still touch on the possible cons (: that’s always appreciated so we don’t go buy it thinking it’s perfect and then have those little disappointments. I can’t really rock a pink lip (usually go for darker shades), but I love maybelline and this formula looks great!
Thanks a lot! I believe that there are hardly any perfect products out there 🙂 You can try a darker color from their range 🙂
I think I will! Thanks for the tip (:
These lipsticks are a steal at this price! I need to check some shades out from this range. 😍
