When a foundation claims to last for 25 hours and numerous beauty bloggers swear by it, you have to try it out, right? The fact that the said foundation is created by one of my favorite drugstore brands, Rimmel, was another factor that encouraged me to buy this tube that comes with the promise of flawless skin. So, did the Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation live up to my expectations? Read on to find out!
I purchased this foundation online, which means that selecting the shade was quite a task. My basic strategy is to go for a darker than medium shade, especially if it is a foundation by an international brand. The shade I went for was 301 Warm Honey, which is a peach toned beige that matches the shade of my skin quite perfectly. Unfortunately though, the foundation tends to turn lighter on my skin with time and gives the appearance of a white cast within a few hours. This was quite a bummer for me because I really loved the texture and coverage of the foundation, perhaps I need to try another shade from the range to form a more solid opinion on the “whitening” phenomenon.
Texturewise, the foundation is quite impressive, it has a liquid consistency but still manages to provide almost full coverage on the skin! This is the reason that I love this foundation so much, it covers all blemishes and gives the appearance of perfect skin without looking cakey. I haven’t really tested the 25-hour claim but I can confirm that it does stay put on the skin for 12 hours without getting shiny or patchy. I would say that the finish is a natural matte that should work with most skin types.
The foundation comes in a 30ml tube, which is priced at INR 600 in India. I was afraid at first that the tube will make the product go everywhere but it is not as messy as I had feared. In fact, it does dispense the right amount of product with a gentle squeeze. To be honest, INR 600 is a price that I would happily pay for a full coverage, long lasting foundation like this one. If only the white cast issue had not existed, this would have been the perfect foundation for me! I encourage all of you to try out this product but do go to a store and swatch the shades to make sure that the foundation does not change color on your skin. If you find the right shade in this range, you will never reach for another foundation!
I hope that this review was helpful, you can buy the Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation in the shade 301 Warm Honey here.

I’ve never actually tried any Rimmel foundations before, but if I can find my shade, I may just have to give this a try!
You must 🙂
Mostly foundations oxidise but this one lightens!! Strange enough. And still it has a place in your heart. This must definitely be an amazing foundation then.. would try to get my hands on this. 🙂
I feel that my face has a weird chemistry that does odd things to foundations 😛
The formula is great indeed 🙂
Ou I must keep an eye out for this! I’m always on the hunt for a full coverage. To help you find your shade you should check this site out: http://findation.com
It always points me in the right direction 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing the site, so useful 🙂
I’d be lost without it! I’m useless at knowing which one would be best for me! Saves me a fortune!! xx
In South Africa, the packaging is different. It comes in a glass bottle. Also, I found rhat the shade range for this is better than the Rimmel Match Perfection range here. Hopefully the ‘whitening effect’ was just a fluke and not part and parcel of the formula.
I hope so too! The formula is great otherwise 😀
Love this stuff ! As I was working on getting more things about this, the article has helped me to solve various clarifications. Thanks for the great content.
