I must admit, I am extremely lazy when it comes to my brows and have no clue regarding how to use fancy brow products like pomades. However, when Maybelline came out with its Fashion Brow Cream Pencil, I thought that handling a brow pencil should be easy enough. I am glad that I invested in this handy product because it provides an instant and effortless makeover to my brows 🙂
I went for the Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil in the shade Grey, the other variant being a warm brown which I believe won’t suit most Indian eyebrows as much as this cool toned dark grey shade. I love that this color is not a jet black that may look fake, but a more natural and lighter shade instead. Texture wise, this pencil is creamy enough for easy application yet waxy enough to stay in place and not get messy. I primarily use it for filling in the sparse areas of my brows and it provides a nice, greyish shadow that gives the illusion of fuller brows.
The great thing about this product is that it is incredibly affordable and is priced at INR 175 (can be found at even cheaper rates online!). Considering that it is a brow pencil and such products tend to last a lifetime, you can’t really go wrong with this product. This pencil is a great way to venture into the world of eyebrow products, because it is easy to use and is not intimidating like the newer brow products that have hit the shelves. Personally, I am very pleased that I have finally gained the courage to fill in my brows, thanks to this amazing brow pencil!
I have very dark eyebrows (almost black). It’s so frustrating trying to find an eyebrow pencil dark enough for my brows. All the pencils seem to be dark brown or very light brown, which looks ridiculous on my eyebrows! Not sure why dark (not brown tones) are so hard to find. I know loads of women even with lighter hair than me who naturally have very dark eyebrows. It’s such a mystery as to why stores are not stocking that shade when they stock a huge choice of black mascara… but not for eyebrows… crazy!
Thanks very much for your informative review, I shall give this a try. I’ve been using a (grey tone) one made by Beauty UK for the last couple of years. It’s an excellent eyebrow pencil, doesn’t smudge if you accidentally touch your eyebrow… a real bargain price too! I can only buy it online now, and worry it will disappear one day, as so many other favourite cosmetics products of mine have. It’s good to have an alternative, especially one that doesn’t smudge… so many do! 🙂
Even I don’t understand why so many brown eyebrow pencils are available in the market but not as many black/grey ones. This one should be a good substitute for your favorite, hope it works for you 🙂
Hi Mrinalini, I haven’t tried a grey eyebrow filler, but I’ll have to give it a try. One of the best products I’ve found tough is the Loreal Kabuki – I love it because it covers my grey eyebrows, which are thick too. Thanks for a great post – I love the products you show! 🙂
