It is no secret that Maybelline knows how to create a good mascara. Although I have always been a Colossal gal, I was looking to switch things up when I heard Zoella mention the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in her Insta Story. If you hear the queen of makeup showering so much love on a product, you have to buy it right? So, here are my two cents about this mascara.
The first thing about this product that took me by surprise was the packaging, I wasn’t expecting it to be so heavy and sturdy, which gives it the look of a high-end mascara. The pink body with the black print looks quite sophisticated when compared to the packaging of most of the Maybelline eye products. It has some sort of a princess element to it, in my opinion, or maybe I just haven’t had enough sleep lately 😛
Coming to the formula of the product, it is slightly liquidy and less clumpy compared to the Colossal mascaras. It is more of a lengthening mascara than a volumising one, although layering the product will give you substantial volume too, without your lashes looking too fake. I feel that the brush of this product is the shining star, it has thin bristles that really get to the roots of all the lashes and provide even coverage throughout. You will like this brush if you do not like the thicker variants and want something more suitable for a precise application.
Due to my sensitive eyes, I went for the non-waterproof version and the picture above shows the result with just one coat. This variant of the mascara comes off very easily with water but stays on all day long otherwise. For a drugstore mascara priced at INR 500, I feel that the performance of this product is fantastic. I will recommend wearing one coat for a regular day and 2-3 coats for a special event. If short eyelashes are your primary concern then this mascara is the perfect choice for you!
I hope that this review was helpful. You can buy the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara for INR 375 here.

I think I should have got the non waterproof variant. It is so tough to take the waterproof one off that I have started using it less 😐 😐
I always feel that waterproof mascaras do a lot of damage to the lashes while removal, no matter how great your makeup remover is. I choose waterproof mascara only for special events 🙂
I do that too but I have finished it up and I am yet to buy a new one 😐
It is so much loved my beauty gurus that I am also palnning to buy it.Great Review
I love this too, I find a bit too much product comes out but I just wipe it off and use the wand then x x
I agree! It gets easier after a few days when the product gets a little thicker 🙂
I love this mascara! I find it works best a week or so after opening it, when it’s dried up a little. Great post! HiddenLittleGem.com
I completely agree with you! It is a bit liquidy when freshly opened <3
Definitely one of my favourite mascaras!
Mine too 🙂
Looks great on your lashes! I need to try this!
