As hard as it may sound to moisturize each day, particularly during the hot summer months, it is essential for healthy, glowing skin. What is even more essential is a high enough SPF to protect your face from the summer sun. Lazy me likes to combine both the steps and I always prefer day creams that have an SPF. I recently tried out the VLCC Depigmentation Day Cream and here are my thoughts about it.
This day cream lies somewhere between a creamy and thick consistency. A small amount is sufficient for the whole face and you will need to massage it in to prevent a white cast. Once absorbed by the skin, it leaves the face feeling supple and hydrated the entire day. I am not too sure about its depigmentation qualities but it does brighten the skin with regular usage.
The formula has SPF 25, which is quite high for a day cream and eliminates the need for a sunscreen if you are exposed to direct sunlight only for a few minutes each day. It also contains some great ingredients such as mulberry extract, turmeric, and glycolic acid, which are known to work wonders for troubled skin. The cream has quite a strong, sweet smell that might bother some people but I am pretty fine with it.
A 50 gm tub of this cream is priced at INR 405, which is quite reasonable as this tub lasted me for a really long time. The packaging is also very unique and looks cute stacked up with the other products from the range. Overall, I would say that this is a good cream for those with dry to combination skin, as it might be a little too greasy for oily skin types. It evens out the skin tone quite well without being harsh on the delicate skin of the face. A great day cream for the summer months!
