I’ll admit — I have a complicated relationship with tinted sunscreens. The idea is perfect: sun protection + a little coverage in one step. But in practice? Most of them either leave me looking orange, transfer everywhere, or give absolutely no coverage. So when I got my hands on the Foxtale tinted sunscreen I was hoping for a small miracle to happen – and it did! Here’s my detailed review of this tinted sunscreen and how it fared on my oily skin.

Packaging & First Impressions
The Foxtale tinted sunscreen comes in a sleek, minimalist tube with a flip-top cap. It is light, travel-friendly, and easy to slip into my handbag. The formula is a fluid, which the name already tells you, but what surprised me is that it doesn’t feel runny or too liquidy to handle on the go. It has a creamy, almost lotion-like consistency that sits on your fingers for a second before you start blending, giving you just enough time to actually work with it.

Texture & Application: What The Foxtale Tinted Sunscreen Feels Like On Oily Skin
When you first apply the Foxtale Tinted Sunscreen, there’s a slightly slippery, shiny feel — almost like your skin has that freshly-moisturised look. If you’ve used other fluid sunscreens or tinted SPFs, you’ll recognise that initial slip. But give it two to three minutes, and it completely settles. The greasiness disappears, the shininess calms down, and what you’re left with is healthy, even-toned skin. The coverage is good too – enough to cover redness and mild dark spots. If you have active breakouts or deeper marks you want to cover, one extra layer (or a spot of concealer on top) does the job without feeling heavy.
And transfer? Barely any. I did the tissue test, I accidentally touched my face throughout the day — it held up impressively well for a formula this creamy. No smudging, no sliding around under makeup, no strange patchiness after a few hours.

Foxtale Tinted Sunscreen Shade Range – Does It Work For Indian Skin Tones?
I received four shades (01 to 04) — and you can see the swatches in the images above. The full range goes up to 6 shades on the website, and if you’re trying to figure out which one matches you, the swatches should give you a clear picture of the depth and undertones.
What I want to laud here is the undertone philosophy of this range, because it matters more than the shade number itself. The entire lineup leans neutral, yellow, and olive — which is exactly right for most Indian skin tones. Whether you’re fair, wheatish, medium brown, or deeper, the undertones in these shades will blend into your skin rather than sitting on top of it awkwardly. No orange cast, no ashy finish. Just a seamless, second-skin look that actually makes sense for us.

Shade 01 and 02 work beautifully for fair to light-medium tones, 03 hits the sweet spot for medium to wheatish, and 04 onwards caters to medium-deep and deeper complexions. The formula is forgiving enough that going one shade lighter or darker doesn’t create a stark contrast, so if you’re between shades, don’t stress too much. In my case – I can make both Shade 02 and 03 work for my NC 35 skin tone.
The Formulation: Skincare With Coverage That Actually Works!
The formula packs Niacinamide for regulating oil, minimizing pores, and reducing pigmentation: all the things Indian skin needs on a daily basis. The UV filters include Ethylhexyl Triazone, one of the most photostable and effective UVB filters available, alongside broader spectrum chemical filters for thorough UVA + UVB protection. SPF 50 with PA+++ means you’re covered for prolonged outdoor use, not just a quick morning commute.
The tint itself comes from Iron Oxides — which are also known to offer some protection against visible light and blue light. So the tint isn’t just cosmetic; it’s actually adding a layer of defence that a clear sunscreen with SPF 50 alone doesn’t offer.

The formula is free from parabens, sulphates, harsh alcohols, and added fragrance. 32 ingredients total, and none of the usual suspects that cause sensitivity or flare-ups. If you have reactive or acne-prone skin, this checks all the right boxes.
If oil control is your primary concern and you prefer a completely matte, gel-based formula, Foxtale also has a gel sunscreen in the lineup that’s worth checking out. Though for the added coverage and skincare benefits, the tinted sunscreen is hard to beat.

Will The Foxtale Tinted Sunscreen Suit Your Skin Type?
This sunscreen works beautifully for dry, normal, combination and slightly oily skin. the creamy texture is nourishing enough to skip a separate moisturiser on regular days, making it a genuinely one-step morning product. It sits well under makeup and holds up on no-makeup days too.
For very oily skin, a light dusting of translucent powder over the top will keep everything in place through the afternoon, especially in peak Indian summer heat. It’s a small extra step, but it makes the whole thing last beautifully.
Final Thoughts
The Foxtale SPF 50 Tinted Fluid Sunscreen is one of those products that quietly earns its place in your routine. The shade range is thoughtful, the undertones are genuinely Indian-skin-friendly, and the coverage is real without being heavy. Plus the skincare ingredients mean you’re not just protecting your skin, you’re actively improving it every time you wear it.
This is truly the best Indian tinted sunscreen I have tried so far and I will highly recommend you all to give it a shot too!
