I am someone who tries not to use superlatives when it comes to describing products. After all, there are so many great products out there that it is unfair to single out one of them as the best of the lot. However, ever since I have tried the Vilvah Lip Scrub, it has been impossible for me to not call it the best lip scrub ever! Given that I am usually hard to please when it comes to lip products, you have to know why I rate it at the top of class. Here is my full review of this wonderful lip scrub.
The Packaging
The Vilvah Lip Scrub comes in a super compact metal container with a screw on lid that you can easily throw into your handbag or even a clutch. This is amazing because most lip scrubs I have tried so far come in larger jars which make them hard to travel with whereas this one is perfect. I also love the cute pink colour of the lid which draws me to the product even more. This tiny jar contains 15gm of product which will last you quite a long time. The price of the jar is INR 290, which may seem a bit much for the quantity of product but once you hear what I love about this scrub’s formula, you will understand how the price is justified.
The Formula and Consistency
Just like most lip scrubs out there, the Vilvah Lip Scrub makes use of sugar particles as the exfoliant, but what makes this product stand out from the rest is how they have finely milled the sugar to the perfect consistency. The sugar particles in this scrub do not feel chunky or harsh on the lips and do a great job at exfoliating the dead skin without leaving the lips irritated. I have used lip scrubs in the past which contained chunky sugar particles (the ones that we put in our tea) in an oil base, and felt that the exfoliation could have been more thorough if the particles had been finer. Kudos to Vilvah for actually putting in the effort of milling the sugar particles to the ideal size.
Coming to the creamy base of this lip scrub which has a consistency similar to ghee and has a very faint lemony fragrance (natural). It contains a mix of Organic Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Almond Oil, Lemon and Spearmint Essential Oils and Beeswax. This nourishing base leaves a creamy film on the lips even after you wash off the scrub particles, which acts like a lip balm, and I do not need to layer another lip balm on top. Every evening, I only wash off the sugar particles after scrubbing my lips and leave the creamy residue on my lips and I have been waking up to the softest lips ever! This is why I feel that the formula of this lip scrub is better than the others in the market and goes beyond something you can DIY at home.
My Final Verdict on the Vilvah Lip Scrub
Do I really need to state my final verdict on the Vilvah Lip Scrub? If you have reached this far I am sure you have already gauged how much I love this product. I do not think that I will be switching to any other lip scrub soon, and will be repurchasing it over and over again. This product is easy to use and makes the lips soft, smooth, plump and hydrated, all in one go. You can honestly not ask for more from a lip scrub.
