Posted on May 31, 2019May 24, 2019 by Mrinalini

Since most of us in India do not have bathtubs to whip up a lavish bubble bath, a beautiful handmade soap is what we can resort to for a luxurious bath experience. I was recently sent some wonderful handmade soaps by The Soap Factory, a brand known for its natural, eco-friendly, and handcrafted skincare. Read…

Kamaakshi Botanicals Vetiver Water Face and Body Mist | Review

Posted on May 27, 2019May 24, 2019 by Mrinalini

90’s kids, do you remember the khas grass that our parents used to attach to the walls of our air coolers in the summer months? That is what Vetiver grass is, and as unglamorous as it may sound, vetiver water carries a bunch of skincare benefits. A number of skincare brands in India have recently…

Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash | Moisturizing Honey | Review

Posted on May 24, 2019May 17, 2019 by Mrinalini

The Nivea Milk Delights Face Washes were recently launched by the brand with much pomp and show aka advertising campaigns. This range of face washes addresses a variety of different skin types and claims to combine the goodness of milk with other age-old natural skin-loving ingredients. I was curious to find out what the buzz…

Wet n Wild Megaglo Contouring Palette – Dulce de Leche | Review and Swatches

Posted on May 15, 2019May 15, 2019 by Mrinalini

Despite so many brands talking about shade inclusivity when it comes to foundations and concealers, it is still hard to find a contouring product in India that shows up on medium to deep Indian skin tones. Some of the bronzers which I have used in the past, which are actually deep enough for Indian skin…

Sugar Cosmetics Drop The Base Serum Foundation – Review and Swatches

Posted on May 13, 2019May 10, 2019 by Mrinalini

Sugar Cosmetics recently launched their Drop The Base Serum Foundation, which as far as I know, is the first serum foundation by an Indian brand. I couldn’t help but pick up the beautiful frosted bottle filled with the golden silky liquid (yes, their ads sucked me in). Also, the idea of a thin, light-weight foundation…

Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Night Moisturizer | Review

Posted on May 10, 2019May 3, 2019 by Mrinalini

Despite so many international brands coming to India, it is still hard to find some of the cult skincare products in our country. I have been trying to get my hands on the celebrated Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream since years, but it is not available anywhere without a whopping shipping charge. I finally…

I have followed the One in One Out policy for my s I have followed the One in One Out policy for my skincare, makeup and clothes for as long as I can remember. Here are some of the skincare products that I recently emptied and what I have replaced them with -

1. Hydrating Serum - I am surprised at how quickly I emptied the @zilchway Insta Bounce Serum, it is such a fuss-free hydrating lotion that I have been reaching for it whenever my skin felt dry in December. Have now replaced it with the @suganda.co Hyaluronic Acid Serum. The Zilch serum has a more lotion-like consistency whereas the Suganda one is a gel. I like them both but feel that the former will work better from dry to moderately oily skin while the latter will suit oily to extremely oily skin more.

2. Moisturizer - I was absolutely devastated when I emptied the @vauntskincare BFFF Moisturizer. It is honestly better than any moisturizer I have tried lately and I will be restocking it soon. In the meantime, I am using the Suganda Squalane after my hydrating serum to seal the moisture in. This one is gentle, light-weight and kind to the skin barrier, which I love. Highly recommend both these products.

3. Lip Balm - The Arata Lip Balm was a savior for me in December and thanks to it my lips didn't chap like they normally do in Winters. It is one of the rare vegan lip balms with a thick and emollient consistency. Now I am using the Suganda Calendula Lip Balm which is slightly thinner but equally moisturising. Again, both the products are winners for me.

Have you tried any of these products yet?

Let me know in the comments :)

Do you like lavender? You will LOVE the Lush Laven Do you like lavender? You will LOVE the Lush Lavender Body Butter from @herbisland.official 💜
It has an almost whipped consistency that blends beautifully on the skin. Upon spreading, it looks white and grainy initially, but once you massage it well, it has an invisible finish. It makes my skin super soft without being greasy and has the heavenly scent of lavender. Not only does it moisturize my skin really well, it's beautiful scent makes me sleep better too! Highly recommend this gem!!!

Have been trying the @suganda.co Hyaluronic Acid S Have been trying the @suganda.co Hyaluronic Acid Serum for a week now and have formed my first impressions of the product. Here is everything what I want to tell you about this product -

✨ I love the fact that the Ingredient list is short and simple. It contains hydrating ingredients in the form of hyaluronic acid and panthenol, along with soothing ingredients in the form of centell and colloidal oatmeal. Apart from this, there aren't many other ingredients except the necessary preservatives.

✨ I love that the product doesn't claim to do multiple things. It is supposed to be hydrating and soothing and it fares well on both these accounts.

✨ I also love that the product doesn't feel heavy on my skin. It blends in quickly (foams a little in the beginning, probably due to the oatmeal but then settles to an invisible finish. It leaves the skin soft and hydrated but you don't really feel the product sitting on your skin.

✨ It doesn't contain fragrance and doesn't even have a noticeable natural scent. This along with the fuss-free ingredient list makes it perfect for sensitive skin.

Overall, if you are in the market for a hydrating serum with no frills attached you can definitely pick this one. I love to sandwich it between a mist and an oil (my moisture sandwich if I may call it so!!)

Is there such a thing as too many sunscreens? Not Is there such a thing as too many sunscreens? Not in my book! The sunscreen that I have been testing out recently is the @eclat_official.in UV Hydra Lite Sunscreen with SPF 50++. This is a physical sunscreen with zinc oxide, titanium oxide and silica. It also contains an interesting mix of hydrating ingredients and antioxidants such as Vit C, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Olive Oil. Like most physical sunscreens I have used, it does leave a slight white cast as shown in the video. The product also pills a bit if you drag it along your skin instead of patting it in. That being said, here is what I like about this sunscreen -

✨ Settles to a matte finish on the skin. Isn't heavy or greasy.
✨ Feels soothing on the skin and has a mild fragrance.
✨ Feels hydrating on the skin despite being matte.
✨ Is water resistant and perfect for beach trips (if I ever get to travel again)
✨ Doesn't feel heavy on the skin even after 6 hours of wear. With many other physical sunscreens, my pores feel clogged after a few hours but not with this one.

This is the kind of sunscreen I would wear on my face and body when I am out on the beach or going swimming. I will also wear it on my face when stepping out in general, provided I have the time to blend it properly. Overall, it is a good option for those who prefer physical sunscreens. It is a bit pricey but coupon code MRINALINI gives you 20% off on all eclat products! Make sure to use it on www.eclatsuperior.com whenever you make a purchase from the brand 🙂

It took me 8 years to coax and cajole my husband t It took me 8 years to coax and cajole my husband to follow a (somewhat) daily skincare routine! He has slightly oily and fairly sensitive skin, without any acne. He only likes products that are light-weight, soothing and gentle. These are the 5 products that he uses regularly after rejecting several products that I forced him to try. Ladies, if you have a fussy man in your life with a similar skin type, he may like these products too! And if there are any men reading this post then please consider trying these products or let me know your skincare faves below!

Update - The husband has just informed me that he loves the @vauntskincare
Watermelon and seaweed face mist too 😄

P.S. - I would love it if you ladies will also share a similar post with the #skincaremymanloves and #skincarehasnogender 😊

P.P.S - The man in the first pic is a random human from a stock picture. I can convince my husband to use skincare but cannot convince him to be on social media 🙈
