If you are an avid stalker of celebrity skincare secrets then you must have heard of the benefits of Rosehip Seed Oil by now. This multi-tasking skincare ingredient is what you need in your life if you are on the wrong side of 25 and your skin is beginning to age. To find out what the hype over this oil was all about, I recently picked up the Ryaal Rosehip Seed Oil and here is how this product fared for me.
This 100% pure rosehip seed essential oil comes in the classic Ryaal packaging – a blue bottle with a dropper. The product itself is a golden oil with a nutty fragrance that is not too thick and sinks into the skin pretty quickly. It does leave behind a slightly oily cast on the skin but nothing too stark – you can pair it with a mattifying day cream or foundation during the day and use it as a part of your moisturising routine at night without looking like a grease ball (unless you have extremely oily skin to begin with).
Coming to the properties of the product, rosehip seed oil indeed does it all! It is rich in fatty acids, Vitamin A and Vitamin C and acts as a moisturiser as well as a toner. I have been using this oil as a part of my moisturising routine (post toning) and have noticed its exfoliating properties already. It has a noticeable peeling action and I could see that my dead skin was flaking off faster than usual while my pimples seemed to dry up more quickly. My skin also looked smoother than usual, which could be due to the fact that rosehip seed oil diminishes pores and plumps up the skin to prevent the appearance of wrinkles. I know that it sounds too good to be true, but if you religiously incorporate this facial oil in your skincare routine then I am sure that you will observe such positive results too.
Overall, I do not have anything negative to say about this product. It is quite affordable at INR 289 for a 15ml bottle that will last you for months if used in the right quantity. My skin has been behaving really well since I started using this oil and it is perhaps the most enjoyable part of my skincare routine at the moment.
